Seasonal Notes / 季節の話題

Japan is in the Temperate Zone and has four seasons.

Roughly, in and around Tokyo, September through November are fall, and cool and refreshing; December through February are winter and cold; March through May are spring and warm, and June through August are summer and hot. In each season, there are a lot of events and festive activities.

In South Carolina where I live, on the other hand, the feeling of the seasons is very different. Summer is June through October and winter is December and the first half of January!

Still, every year I like to put up a new calendar on the wall and look through it, remembering the seasonal activities I used to enjoy, as well as the ones I will enjoy with my family in the US.

Sometimes I cook for myself and make a small decoration for the occasion. I would like to tell you about them.
